RIF is the industry association for consulting companies in the built environment sector, including engineers, architects, project managers, planners, environmental scientists among others. We represent the business interests of our members and the consultancy and engineering industry in Norway. RIF has 200 approved consulting companies operating across many different disciplines in Norway with 11.000 employees and a turnover of NOK 14 billion. RIF work to improve the business environment for our member firms by offering a range of products and services to help them run their business, as well as lobbying governments on their behalf to improve their operating environment.
RIF is the Norwegian member association of the global consulting association FIDIC. The member firms adhere to the FIDIC Code of Ethics, and have to satisfy relevant liability insurance coverage according to Norwegian standard contracts and standards of competence set by RIF.

FIDIC, the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (the acronym stands for the French version of the name) represents globally the consulting engineering industry. As such, the Federation promotes the business interest of firms supplying technology-based intellectual services for the built and natural environment.
European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA), is the sole association representing professional engineering consultancy and related services in Europe.
